Bendi Wijaya (31), the driver of a tronton truck carrying gallons of mineral water that had an accident at the Ciawi 2 Toll Gate (GT) has yet to be questioned regarding the incident that killed eight people. He was seriously injured and is still receiving treatment at the Ciawi Regional Hospital.
Bendi is a resident of Bangkongreang Village, Benda Village, Cicurug District, Sukabumi Regency. In the village he lives in a rented room with his wife and 2-month-old baby.
His father-in-law, Endang Suhendar (57), found out about the incident that Bendi experienced on Wednesday (5/2) at around 01.00 WIB. The first person he met was Bendi’s co-worker.
“At 1 am my friend told me, at that time I immediately went to the hospital. When I was at the hospital, he was not yet conscious. His condition on the back of his head was a torn wound that was stitched, his eyes were swollen,” said Endang.
At the hospital, Endang just found out that many accident victims were also receiving treatment.
Endang said that Bendi left from the base or gallon pulling truck on Tuesday (4/2) at around 21.00 WIB. At that time, Bendi left as usual.
